Around 400 people attended the talk, which was followed by a time of questions at St Georges Medical School.  Professor Lennox gave an excellent talk, which will be available to download from our Resources page soon.

The evening happened in Streatham and featured E.Tizz, New Direction Crew and The Rescued.  DJ Big T kicked off the evening with a slamming set while Franco worked the crowd with his magic.  Around 120 people came to hear the music including MOBO award winning artist, Jahaziel.  Si ended the evening by explaining John 3:16 and the good news of Jesus.

HIP HOP NIGHT

We have had a huge amount of interest in the evening, which is happening tomorrow (18th) at 8pm in St Georges Medical School.  We have therefore booked an extra lecture theatre, in addition to the the Monckton Lecture Theatre, with a live video link-up as an overflow.  However, if you want to be sure of a place, do come early.  Doors open at 7.30pm.  John Lennox will be speaking on ‘Has Science Buried God?’ and will be taking our questions afterwards.

The cost of the tickets are £5 for the International Women’s Evening and £10 for the Men’s Curry Night per person. There are two ways you can book your place for the above events.

1. Participating church

Go along to one of the participating Passion for Life partner churches from Sunday and you can book through their ticket rep.  Payment can be made by cash or cheque. A list of the reps and participating churches can be viewed here.

2. Telephone

If you do not attend one of the above churches but would like to book a place,  you can book by telephone.  For the telephone numbers, click here.

We have booked great speakers and venues for both events and places are limited, so do book soon!  All of our other main events are free and you can simply turn up on the night.

NEW DIRECTION CREW consists of singer Elizabeth, songwriter and rapper Prince, who raps with Isasc, and writer and producer GP.

The group has been together for almost 10 years and they are steadily making their mark.  They have performed alongside top UK and US Gospel artists such as Lecrae and Micah Stampley and have appeared at Brixton Academy and on R Music TV.   Their Album ‘The Saviour’s Shadow’, features Jahaziel, G Kid, Verbswish, Jack Ellis, Mark Asari, and S.O.   They say that their sole desire is to give God the highest praise.  Listen on Myspace. E.TIZZ is an up-and-coming Gospel Hip Hop artist who is rapidly becoming an established part of the British scene.

Before embarking on his own solo carrier he was ‘hype man’ for MOBO award winning artist Jahaziel and has played with artists such as Lecrae, Ambassador and Grammy award nominated Da’ Truth.  His debute album ‘Sound of My Soul’ was released this summer and features top UK artists such as GuvnaB, G-Force, SammyG, S.O and Jahaziel.  In his own words, the purpose of the project is to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. They will be supported by The Rescued and joined by a big-name British Hip Hop DJ who will make a surprise appearance.  The evening will also involve close-up magic by Franko, there will be a non-alcoholic bar and a message about Christ’s passion for our life.
